“I define sexual assault as someone who has hatred that doesn’t care about the feelings of someone else,” said Mary Pavia.

“I had a good friend whose husband physically and sexually abused them throughout their marriage. He constantly said sorry and didn’t mean it,” said Pavia when she was asked has she witnessed or experiences sexual assault.

“I think Texas State provides a lot of awareness and support when it comes to protecting students and victims. They let you all know that these things do happen in real life,” said Pavia.

“Sexual assault is when a sexual act us being attempted without their consent,” said Margerita Vargas-Gonzales.

“I have never been a victim of sexual assault but my heart goes out to those that have,” said Vargas-Gonzales.

“I think Texas State should make freshmans do more modules to teach what sexual assault is and how to disclose if it happens to you,” said Vargas-Gonzales.

"Sexual assault is defined when a person sexually touches another person without that person's consent," said Sariah Gonzales.

"Fortunately I have personally never been sexually assaulted or seen anyone being assaulted," said Gonzales."

"Personally as an individual, I'm not entirely sure what I can do, but if I'm ever out with friends, I can make sure they're with me and we can keep track of each other the entire night." "Texas State can increase awareness around campus, and provide a hotline or free counseling for students on campus," said Gonzales.
