Edna Gonzalez, a Small Town Wonder

Edna Gonzalez is a junior at Texas State University. She is a 25-year-old Digital Media Innovations major who was born and raised in Port Arthur, Texas, a small town outside of Houston, Texas.

Gonzalez started as a computer science major at Lamar University, located in Beaumont, Texas, where she realized her potential was too great for the university's courses. 

"I feel like I wasn't really pushing myself to the limit, so I had to move," she replied after being asked for a reason she chose Texas State.

After being asked about her change in majors, she replied, "after I moved, I had to take a different set of computer science and math classes and I didn't want to do that again."

Edna is now learning how to code and plans to be proficient in time for graduation.

University students questioned about sexual assault By San’Tres Broussard SAN MARCOS, Texas – On March 26, 2019, mass communication students of Texas State University formed focus groups compiled of their peers to discuss and record the feelings and beliefs regarding sexual assault on college campuses. The mass communication students were given the opportunity to interview whomever they felt necessary for the focus group with one requirement: the focus group must be compiled of university and college students. Arian Helm Interview

Adrian Helm is a student at Texas State and is currently studying electronic media. Communication is important to her, hence the major. Helm grew up in Fort Worth and attended Trimble Technical High School. As a young girl, she played basketball throughout her childhood, it being one of her passions. While being in school, Helm also has her own YouTube channel. She hopes one day her experience with the channel can turn into her own talkshow. In addition, Helm has a passion of helping others. In the past few years, she has been making wigs and eventually will extend that passion to those in need, such as cancer patients.
